This is a short essay about the guy from Riverdale, as indicated by the title. He is also pictured below (I hope).

So Riverdale guy, not to be confused with the other Riverdale guy, whom he is speaking to, says something that, to my eyes, was a little insensitive. The other Riverdale guy, who is not pictured above (I hope), said that he needed to drop out of high school to sell drugs for his "Nana." Or maybe to sell the drugs to his "Nana." I'm not sure, I haven't seen the show.

Regardless, the other Riverdale guy, who, to be clear, is not pictured above, is down on his luck. So's his "nana." That's when Riverdale guy---the one pictured above---responds with that line. Yikes.

While it is true that the other Riverdale guy has never "known the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows of high school football," Riverdale guy has failed to grasp the socioeconomic circumstances of the other Riverdale guy.  You see, reader, while the other Riverdale guy has not experienced the "the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows of high school football," he has in fact experienced the defeat of having either an impoverished or drug addicted "Nana." Perhaps the Riverdale economy isn't doing so well, unlike ours in America, which is doing really good. The Dow is up 500, after all.

But I digest. What I find insensitive about Riverdale guy's reply is that he seems to actually believe that the "highs and lows of high school football" are somehow more "epic" than drug addiction and/or selling drugs to or for other Riverdale guy's "Nana." Riverdale guy, instead of meeting his #1 homie's (I'm assuming) personal struggles with empathy and consideration, he meets it with a rather apathetic response that undermines the other Riverdale guy's suffering and economic struggle. I mean, the guy can't even afford a photo for this article, that's how poor he is.

Perhaps I am missing important context. After all, I haven't watched the show. To be honest, I don't really know what a "Nana" is. Is that like his dog or something? Let me know in the comments.

In conclusion, I got bored of writing this abomination five minutes ago. So, the end.
