About Us
What it means to be "funemployed"
For eons, there have been two types of people: those with a job, and those without a job. Now, we bring you the superior third option: funemployment.
Writing is fun work; it's the job so many of us would do if it paid the bills. But in the current day, our art is often suppressed for profit or considered replaceable because of AI.
If you want to fight back against that, you're in the right place. This literary journal is created by—and for—young writers who work together to hone their craft.
A "Gen Z" Journal
We typically accept work from Gen Z.
Gen Z is typically a term used by people outside of the actual demographic. So this magazine—though small—is our attempt to regain the voices and identities we never had.
Our desire with Funemployed Magazine is to create a community of young writers who support each other in every little detail of the writing process all the way getting published.
The Foundation
Funemployed Magazine was founded atop a picnic blanket. It was another "you know what'd be cool?" idea that snowballed into a literary journal. The idea was created by three friends separated by distance but united in their passion for writing.
